This year marks the fourth year that International Paper’s Valliant Mill has partnered with Little Dixie Community Action Agency in efforts to help assist families during the holiday season. Through this collaboration, these organizations provide “Thanksgiving-Themed” food baskets to needy families to help lessen the financial strain being experienced by so many during these tough economic times.
The Thanksgiving Food Basket project began in 2009 and has resulted in helping numerous families throughout Choctaw, McCurtain and Pushmataha counties. This year, fourteen families will receive food baskets filled with most everything needed to prepare a delicious Thanksgiving Meal; Turkey, Vegetables, Breads, Pie, Bread Stuffing Ingredients, and much more. Brenda Needham, Executive Director of Little Dixie stated: “This project fits right in with the mission of Community Action; which is “Helping People. Changing Lives” and we are so grateful to International Paper for their generous financial contribution that makes this all possible.
