On Saturday morning, June 1, couples arrived at the Potapo boat ramp on McGee Creek Lake to participate in the Annual Husband-wife Bass Tournament. However, after discussing current weather conditions and a forecast calling for heavy rain and possibly severe thunderstorms during the first half of the day, members voted to postpone the tournament and fish fry that was scheduled after the tournament until Saturday, June 22. Fishing times will remain the same from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a shore side fish fry to follow immediately after the weigh-in. The only drawback is all contestants will now have to have a valid fishing license to participate on this date. The tournament is always scheduled for the first Saturday in June which falls on Oklahoma’s free fishing week-end which will not be in effect on June 22.
The club’s next regular season bass tournament will be held on Saturday, June 8, at Sardis Lake. The launch site for the tournament will be the Sardis Cove boat ramp. Fishing times will be from “safe light” until 3:00 p.m.View more articles in:
