The annual 4th of July Picnic was a success. Over 100 people attended. It was quite a pleasant gathering. The weather was definitely co-operating. The good was good. Our chef, Meryl Redman, did a superb job as usual. I say, “as usual,” because Meryl has cooked for all of our July 4th picnics. A special thanks to the ladies on the serving line. Larry Joslin and I were the speakers. Even Jim Calhoun got in a few words. If you missed it, don’t miss it next year.
The Push for a Better America group will not have a meeting this month as we sponsored the July 4th Picnic. And I don’t think we could top that anyway. Our next meeting will be in August. We’ll let you know. Come and join us.
On another front our local VFW post is considering hosting a Veterans Day parade. The VFW needs to get an idea of community interest in this project. In other words would you support this effort in your attendance or your participation? By participation, I mean would you like to be in the parade?
If you think that this is a good idea contact a VFW member, contact me, write a letter to the editor of the Antlers American, or call the newspaper and let them know.
We really need your feedback on this issue.
