Richard Ray “Rick” Ginn passed from this life on Sunday, April 13, 2014 in Antlers, at the age of 65. Rick was born October 31, 1948 in Shreveport, LA to Mason Ray and Frankie (Woodall) Ginn. He married Linda McMillian on September 2, 1967 in Shreveport, LA. Rick was raised and attended school in Shreveport. He graduated from Woodlawn in 1967. He served in the United States Air Force from 1968- 1972. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 2002 after working as a telephone repairman for 31 years. Rick was a member of the First Baptist Church in Antlers. Throughout his life he spent time as a 4-H Archery instructor. He also served as a scout master & helped his two sons and many others receive their Eagle Scout award in the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a Blue Hat leader for the Baptist Disaster Relief group in which he operated a chainsaw to aid families in cleanup. Every year he participated in the Handicap Hunt as well as the Youth Hunt at Hugo Lake. His joys in life included fishing, hunting and cooking; but his greatest joy in life was spent with his grandson Cody. Rick is preceded in death by his father, Mason Ginn and one brother, Randy Ginn. He is survived by wife, Linda Ginn of the home; son, Matthew Ginn of Antlers, son, Roy Ginn & wife Sissi of Shreveport, LA; mother, Frankie Butler of Shreveport, LA; sister, Cindy Flores & husband Paul of Shreveport, LA; brother, Brian Butler & wife Becky of McKinney, TX; grandson, Cody Ginn of Shreveport, LA; grandson, Kyle Ginn of Chicago, IL as well as numerous of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Family night was held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 6:00pm at Burkhart Funeral Service in Antlers. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church in Antlers, with Brother Aaron Reed officiating and Gary Cannon commenting. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma. Pallbearers include: Otis Martin, John Beesley, Bob Clifton, John Podany, Kelly Clark, Ronnie Branton, Monte Martin, and John Hainer. Honorary pallbearers include: Dwight Satterfield and Marty Martin. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church in memory of Rick.
