Make this year different! This year Americans need to give the gift of genuine concern for other Americans. There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands. Yes there is!

The Pushmataha County Conservation District recently judged their Poster Contest “Forest for People - More Than You Can Imagine” for students in Pushmataha County. 321 entries were turned in and the first place winners moved on to the Area Contest to be judged to see what entrees, if any, would continue on to State.

One entree placed at Area and will go on to be judged at a State level. This poster was created by Jamie Jones of Rattan.

Obuch Middle School Awarded TRC Grant

Obuch Middle School has been awarded a $500 grant from TRC Disaster Solutions of Tulsa through the company’s Partners In Education grant program. The funds are being used to help pay for the integration of technology into the classrooms curriculum.  The purchase of an iPad 2 to download audio books will benefit students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Rollover injures two

December 1, 2011

At approximately 11:52 p.m. on November 23, 2011 a personal injury collision occurred 1 mile east of Sobol on HWY 3 in Pushmataha County.

A 2000 Ford Pickup, being driven by Betty Siders, a 65 year old white female from Del City, was eastbound on Highway 3 when she ran off the road to the right and went in the ditch causing the vehicle to roll one time, after which it came to rest on its tires.

There were two passenger in the vehicle, a 43 year old white female from Tye, TX. by the name of Sheri Frisby and Cheyenne Siders a 17 year old white female also from Tye TX.
