March 15th
On Friday, March 9th, 2012, the Little Dixie Head Start celebrated “Under The Big Top” and “Dad’s Day.” The children and teachers dressed up like they were part of the circus and dads were invited to spend the day with their kids and help out.

The Antlers City Pound has a few new guests staying with them this week that would love to be a part of your family. There are a total with 6 dogs ready for adoption. There are 3 black and white puppies, two male and one female, that are part hound; one mid-length haired small male dog of unknown breed, and two mid-sized dogs, both breeds unknown. If you have any questions, think one of these animals might be yours, or are interested in adopting them please contact Antlers City Hall at 580-298-3274.

Stanley John O’Banion
Stanley John O'Banion, 70, of Clayton, OK, passed from this life on Sunday, March 4, 2012 in Talihina. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Sardis Cemetery in Clayton with Kenny Bryant officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Clayton Funeral Home in Clayton, OK.
Sandra Jane Luginbill was born August 6, 1941 in Enid to Jack and Linnie (Williamson) VanOsdol. She departed this life on March 3, 2012 in Antlers at the age of 70, after an eight year battle with cancer. Sandra was one of three children born to the late Jack & Linnie (Williamson) VanOsdol of Jet. Sandra was born in Enid then raised in Jet and graduated from Jet High School in 1959. Sandra married Lennis Luginbill February 25, 1961 in Jet. They moved numerous times throughout Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico with the Bureau of Reclamation until settling in Antlers in 1982.
Delia Janet Taylor was born February 10, 1935 in Little Cedar to Houston and Martha (Cole) Billy. She passed from this life on February 29, 2012 in Durant at the age of 77. Delia married Williston L. Taylor on March 24, 1957 in Antlers and they remained married until his passing in 2005. Delia was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, fishing, gardening, & playing dominoes. Mostly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Delia was preceded in death by her husband: Williston L.
Flossie Mae King was born November 4, 1922 in Atoka to Arthur Washington and Alice Gertrude (Thomas) Pool. She passed from this life February 29, 2012 in Antlers at the age of 89. Flossie married Elgin Elmore King in Atoka in 1941. She had raised ten children and was a wonderful biscuit & jelly maker. Flossie was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
The Oklahoma Blood Institute and Rattan High School are partnering in a blood drive from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. All healthy adults, and 16 and older, are encouraged to donate at 100 W. Main Street to save loves of those in area community hospitals. All blood doners will receive a donor T-shirt, free health screening and donor reward points.
