Teacher charged with rape and molestation

Charges were officially filed against Rhonda M. Ford, 29, on May 2, 2012, in answer to accusations made against her involving inappropriate behavior involving students at Clayton High School. Ford was a teacher at Clayton High School at the time of the incidents but quickly resigned.

Ford faces over 12 felony counts, including: 1 count of lewd molestation or indecent proposals to a child under the age of 16, 4 counts of second degree rape, 4 counts of sodomy and 3 counts of permitting guests under 21 to possess or consume alcohol or beer.

Push resident critical after collision

On May 2, 2012 at approximately 5:42 p.m. Cristy Kyle, a 34 year old white female from Tuskahoma, was transported by ambulance to Talihina Hospital where she was then flown by Life Flight to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa where she was listed in critical condition with multiple injuries.

The collision occurred on HWY 63 at Buffalo Valley in Latimer County. The driver of the vehicle, Robert Morris, a 36 year old white make from Whitesboro, was also transported to Talihina and then flown to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa. He was listed in stable condition with internal injuries.

Woman critical after collision

An injury collision landed 50 year old Maxine F. Hicks, of Hugo, in critical condition on Saturday, May 5, 2012. The collision occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on HWY 271 just 6 miles south of Antlers in Pushmataha County.

Hicks, the driver of a 2005 Chevy Equinox, fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the roadway to the left striking an embankment and then a utility pole.

She was transported from the scene by Eagle Med Air Ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was listed in critical condition with head, arms, legs and trunk internal and external injuries.

Texas woman killed in one vehicle collision on HWY 2

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, a collision approximately 5 miles north of Moyers on Sate Highway 2 in Pushmataha County claimed the life of a Paris, TX resident.

At 10:00 a.m., a 2004 Honda Accord being driven by Martha Jo Masters, a 69 year-old white female, was northbound on HWY 2 when the vehicle ran of the roadway to the right. The driver then over-corrected and departed the roadway to the left and struck an embankment causing the vehicle to roll half a time, coming to rest on its top/ A passerby stopped and assisted the driver out of the vehicle.

Collision lands High School student in critical condition

At approximately 7:59 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, a collision occurred one mile south of Antlers on HWY 271 in Pushmataha County involving a semi and a pickup which left an Antlers High School student in critical condition.

The 1986 Peterbilt Semi, with trailer, and the 1999 Chevrolet Pickup were both heading north on HWY 271 when the Semi slowed to make a right turn. The pickup continued northbound and rear-ended the Semi. The driver of the pickup was pinned for approximately 15 minutes until being freed by Antlers Fire & Rescue.

Students need to move quickly or miss out on one of this summer’s most exciting outdoor adventure. The 56th Annual Oklahoma Youth Forestry & Wildlife Camp is accepting on-line applications for campers ages 13-15 years old who want to have fun in the outdoors learning about forestry, wildlife and natural resources.

The week-long camp will be held June 4th-9th, 2012 at beautiful Beavers Bend State Park near Broken Bow and is open to boys and girls from across the state.

Antlers student serves as page at capital

Jessica Blan, a student at Antlers High School, served as a page in the Oklahoma House of Representatives during the week of April 16th through April 19th. Blan was sponsored by Representative R. C. Pruett of House District 19.

Jury convicts Stone of 3 counts of Lewd Molestation

April 26, 2012

On Friday, April 20, 2012, a jury comprised of six man and six woman deliberated for less than two hours before convicting Jimmy Stone, Antlers, with three counts of Lewd Molestation and recommending that he serve twenty four years in prison. Stone was originally charged with four counts of First Degree Rape and one count of Lewd Molestation in May of 2011.
