The 2012 Antlers Spikes Coach Pitch team finishes the season with a winning record taking 2nd place out of 12 teams in the Hugo League. The Red River Jr. Golf held it's 4th golf tournament on Monday, June 25th at Rock Creek Golf Course in Hugo. There were 43 young golfers who participated in this tournament.
Co-Ed: 1st - Jacob Peralta - Pattonville, Tx - 46, 2nd - Tyler Nottingham - Paris, Tx - 50.
9 - 10 Boys: 1st - Jackson Nottingham - Paris, Tx - 46; 1st - Browning Snider - Idabel, Ok - 46; 2nd - Radley Crutchfield - Brookston, Tx - 48; 3rd - Reese Mobley - Paris, Tx - 49.
11 - 12 Boys: 1st - Parker Freeman - Paris, Tx - 44, 2nd - Layton Wright - MtVernon, Tx - 48, 3rd - Cody Williams - Paris, Tx - 50.
On Saturday, June 23, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a bass tournament on Sardis Lake. Twenty-two members competed in the tournament. The weather was clear and hot, with temperatures in the mid-nineties and light winds. Fourteen members were able to catch at least one keeper bass, with three bass over five pounds weighed in.
Lyndsi Winship, Rattan 2012 Graduate, played in the 20th Annual 2012 Slow-Pitch All-State Softball game at OU on the 3A-4A East Team on June 16, 2012. At this time, Coach Paul Watts also received a plaque for 3A-4A Coach of the Year. She also participated in the 40th Annual Kiamichi All-Star Classic Basketball Game on Saturday, May 26 at Eastern Oklahoma State College where Coach Chris Gibbs and Assistant Coach Dana House escorted her during her introduction. Lyndsi was also selected to the 17th Annual Oklahoma Indian All-State Basketball First Team.
Jacob Mattingly, a Moyers graduate, was recently selected as first team Indian All-State in basketball. Jacob pictured here with his coach Shane Winters. Jacob was also recognized for All-State Indian Academic team. The game took place at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK this past weekend. Jake scored 7 points and his team (the south) won game 100-95.
Taylor Tedder, Antlers 2012 Graduate, participated in the 40th Annual Kiamichi All-Star Classic Softball Game on Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Wilburton. On June 16, 2012, she played in the 20th Year All-State Softball game in Norman on the 5A-6A East Team. At this time, Coach Baldwin also received a plaque for his 400th career win. They would like to say âThank Youâ to the Antlers High School, Miller Office Equipment and Curtis Video Photo for sponsoring Taylor during these events.
Buchanan takes 1st at Red River Jr Golf Tournament
The River River Jr. Golf started it's season on June 11th at the Hugo Golf Club. There were 47 young golfer that showed up to play. Below are the results:
Co-Ed: 1st - Jacob Peralta - Pattenville - 39, 2nd - Isabella Hill - Paris, Tx - 57.
9 - 10 Girls: 1st - Valerie Covington - Hugo, Ok - 69.
11 - 13 Girls: 1st - Lynzee Smith - Grant,Ok - 51.
On Saturday, June 2, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held their Annual Husband-Wife Bass Tournament and Fish Fry. Twenty-one anglers competed in the event that was held on McGee Creek Lake. Teams did not have to be husband and wife but did they did have to be a male-female team to be eligible for heavy stringer prizes. For the most part, the weather cooperated with mild temperatures, however some anglers did have to deal with scattered rain showers.
On Saturday, May 26, members of the Pushmataha County Junior Bassmasters and Conservation Club competed in the first state qualifying bass tournament of the 2012 season. The tournament was held on Hugo Lake with takeoff being at the Frazier Creek ramp. Fishing time was from safe light until 12:00 noon.
Thirteen students from Antlers Public School participated in the State Special Olympics in Stillwater. The athletes returned to Antlers with 6 gold medal, 3 silver medals, 2 bronze medals and numerous ribbons.
