Clayton High School and Junior High School Academic teams won the OPAC Academic Conference which includes teams from Antlers, Atoka , Caney, and Rattan. Both teams also won the tournament held on Nov. 4th , which was held at Clayton.

It had all come down to this. Eleven guys are lined up with 14 seconds left in the ballgame. What will happen in the next 8 seconds weighs heavily on their minds. It's not only Senior Night, and the last home game, but it's also a district game - and one that will make the difference. Fans on both sides of the stadium are on their feet, either screaming for the offense to score or the defense to stop the play...
The weather could not have been more perfect as the Antlers Bearcats traveled to take on the Panama Razorbacks on their home turf. The Bearcats hoped to boost their 0-2 district standings by beating Panama, with a record of 3-2 overall and 1-1 in district. The boys started off strong, scoring a TD with a run in by #34 Lucas Austin and a 2-point conversion by #5 Zach Speer with 11:05 left in the first quarter. Panama quickly returned the favor, but their 2 point conversion was no good, leaving a score of 8-6 in favor of the Bearcats at the end of the first quarter.
September 20th had been a rainy day and was looking like a drizzly night, but the weather didn't dampen their spirits as Bearcat fans packed into the stadium for the Friday night homecoming game against the Wampus Cats. First, the crowd was treated to homecoming festivities showcasing 15 attendants and their escorts. The homecoming court of lovely young ladies looked simply beautiful, dressed in their finest, and there was loud cheers when Macy Smith, the Senior class attendant escorted by Lucas Austin, was announced as the homecoming queen.
Come out and support the team tonight as they play against the Atoka Wampus Cats in the Homecoming game.
Homecoming activities begin at 7:00 pm with kickoff at 7:30 pm.
It was a different looking team when the Antlers Bearcats varsity football squad hosted the Talihina Golden Tigers on Friday, September 13, 2013. Fresh off their win against Valliant the week before, the Bearcats came on strong with Drew McKnight (#2) catching a 37-yd pass thrown by QB Zach Speer (#5) and taking it into the end zone with 2 minutes left in the first quarter. Tanner Brown (#12) kicked the extra point and Bearcats took the lead 7 to 0.
The Antlers Middle School and Junior Varsity football teams traveled to Valliant September 12, 2013. Overall, the teams did well. The 7th grade lost, but the 8th and on Thursday, 9th grades won their respective games.
In their season opener, the Antlers Bearcats were hosted by the Valliant Bulldogs on September 6. The visitor stands were packed with Bearcat fans, anxious to see how the team would respond with new coaching staff and 47 players. On the opening kick off, the Bearcats took control of the ball and marched down the field, scoring a touchdown right off the bat with Junior Lucas Austin (#34) running up the middle. Senior Tanner Brown (#12) kicked the extra point and the score was 7 to 0. The Bulldogs tried to prevail against the Bearcats, but the defense held strong.
Megan Birchfield, shown here with Southeastern Coach Ron Faubion, will be attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant this fall where she will be playing softball for the Lady Savage Storm.
â€śI am so excited for the opportunity to continue playing a game I love and to have the chance to compete with such a great team,â€ť Birchfield said.
The Lady Savage Storm finished their season with a #2 National ranking and a record of 45-9.
