Roy Earl Jackson

July 13, 2012

Roy Earl Jackson was born December 13, 1930 in Antlers to Roy and Nora Mae (Labor) Jackson. He passed from this life July 8, 2012 in Paris, TX, at the age of 81. Roy served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. He was a car salesman in Antlers for many years, owning Jackson Motors. He married Bernice Thomas on August 19, 2000 at Antlers First Baptist Church. He had served on the City Council since 1988 and was the Mayor of Antlers for 19 years.

Joseph George Malakowsky

Joseph George Malakowsky was born October 13, 1947 in Longview, WA., to Harvey and Geraldine (Guyon) Malakowsky. He passed from this life July 5, 2012 in Plano, TX., at the age of 64. Joseph married Barbara Ann Edwards October 10, 1969 in Murphy, TX. Joseph served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Korean War as a Seargent First Class (E-7). During his military career, he served as a Drill Seargent, on the Tunnel Team DMZ, instructor at West Pointe and as an advisor for the national guard.

Cathie Laverne Robbins Greer Loftin

Cathie Laverne Loftin was born on November 23, 1942 to the late Dorothy (Walker) and Vernon Robbins in Black Fork, OK. She passed from this life on Monday, July 2, 2012 in Garland, TX., at the age of 69. Cathie was from the Nashoba area, but passed in Garland where she spent her last few weeks with her daughter. She was a very classy lady. She loved to cook but loved to eat it even more. She was a wonderful mother to her two daughters Robbi Dawn and Cathie Dale. She loved being a nanny. Cathie loved life. She liked to travel and spend time with her family and friends.

Charlotte Lorriane Powell

Charlotte Lorriane Powell, 52, of Antlers, passed from this life on Friday, June 29, 2012. Charlotte was born January 20, 1960 in New Orleans, LA. to Charlotte Anna (Scallen) and Fredrick James Simolke. She was a heavy equipment operator. She was preceded in death by: Her Father. She is survived by: her mother, Charlotte Anna Simolke of Bogota, TX.; daughter, Christina Michelle Davis of Hope, AR.; Grandchildren, Katrina Powell of Prescott, AR.

Madge Brock Glass

Madge Brock Glass was born on July 7, 1919 to Isaac and Stella Boland Brock in Konawa. She passed from this life on July 2, 2012 at her home in Broken Bow at the age of 92. A homemaker, Madge had lived off and on in McCurtain County for several years, moving back to Broken Bow from Antlers two years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, dominoes, quilting, antiques and fishing.

Arson of cop’s car ends in confession

On June 17, 2012, during the early morning hours, the personal vehicle of Antlers Police Officer Stewart Stanfield was found with the rear portion of the vehicle burned. On June 19, 2012, Antlers Chief of Police, Dewayne Morgan, requested OSBI assistance into this matter.

On June 29, 2012, OSBI Agent Steven Carter interviewed Jim Preston Rosson. During the interview Rosson stated that on June 16, 2012, he was approached by an Antlers Police Officer about “stalking” a female at the Antlers Street Dance. Rosson stated he was angry due to the way he was treated by the officers.

Motion to deny bond requested in result to CDS charges

On June 26, 2012, Pushmataha County Deputy Polly Culver, along with other Deputies an the OSBI, conducted a search warrant at a residence located in the Rattan Mobile Park in Rattan. This residence is currently occupied by Natasha Cathey.

Upon entering the residence, Cathey was standing in an area between the living room and kitchen next to a bar area. Cathey was asked to leave the residence while it was being searched. When the residence was searched, a small clear plastic baggie with a white powdery substance inside of it, was found on the bar area near where Cathey was standing.

Two listed in serious condition after vehicle went airborne

On Wednesday, June 27, 2012, an injury collision occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. on HWY 271 about .5 miles south of Antlers in Pushmataha County.

A 2008 Mazda Tribute, being driven by Patsy R. Brittingham of Moyers, was traveling north on HWY 271 when the vehicle departed the roadway to the left, struck a small embankment, went airborne and landed on a county road.

Patsy Brittingham, a 69 year old female, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with head, trunk internal and external, arm and leg injuries. She was listed in serious condition.

Superintendent Ammons inducted into Hall of Fame

Southeastern has selected Cary Ammons, Natalie (Brown) Cooksey, Charles Gulley and Kent Samuel as the four newest members to be inducted into the Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame on August 25.

The foursome will bring the total number of hall of famers to 72 when they are inducted at a banquet to be held at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25.

Antlers Spikes finish 2nd in Hugo League
