It had all come down to this. Eleven guys are lined up with 14 seconds left in the ballgame. What will happen in the next 8 seconds weighs heavily on their minds. It's not only Senior Night, and the last home game, but it's also a district game - and one that will make the difference. Fans on both sides of the stadium are on their feet, either screaming for the offense to score or the defense to stop the play...
Tensions were running high on last Friday night, October 25, when Antlers hosted the Pocola Indians. The Bearcats were celebrating Senior Night and honored 28 seniors, 10 of which would be playing their last home football game. Both Pocola and Antlers had 1-3 standings in their district games and each needed the district win. The Bearcats started off strong with a touchdown and 2 point conversion by #5 Zach Speer at 6:54 in the first quarter. But, Pocola quickly recovered, racking up 28 points by 5:06 in the second quarter. A 29 yard pass from Speer to #11 Bryce Carter in the last 8 seconds of the second quarter closed the distance, making it 16-28 at half-time.
The Bearcats came back strong in the second half, scoring the first touchdown with a 26 yard pass from Speer to #2 Drew McKnight at 9:51 in the third quarter. The Indians retaliated three minutes later. The score now stood at 22-34. But, the Bearcats were not giving up, not even a little. A pass from Speer to #12 Tanner Brown brought the score to 28-34 at the end of the third quarter. The Bearcats continued with another Speer/Brown connection for 34 yards, tying the score at 11:00 in the fourth quarter. Both teams struggled to gain traction, taking it to the last 14 seconds of the game where Antlers had the ball on the Pocola 19 yard line.

He throws and fans are holding their breaths. Brown catches the winning pass with 6 seconds left in the ballgame! The stadium erupts as Bearcat fans are overjoyed. Then to top things off, Tanner Brown tosses the 2 point conversion pass to Zach Speer. Final score is 42-34, Bearcats!
