Charles Wilburn Parker

Charles Wilburn Parker, of Antlers, was born on October 14, 1926, in Pitcher to Jack John and Edith Marie (Young) Parker. He passed from this life on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 85. He lived in Stroud as a child and moved to California as a teen.   He married Ruby Simmons in 1946.  Charles retired from Tinker AFB where he was a sheet metal worker.   Following his retirement, he moved to Antlers.  Charles loved to hunt and fish.  Charles was preceeded in death by: one brother, John Parker and one sister, Saundra Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruby Parker of the home; son, Jerry Kevin Parker of Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Carolyn Parker of Visalia, CA; brother-in-law, Lawrence Allen Simmons of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Julie Parker of Visalia, CA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague.  Interment followed at the Prague Cemetery in Prague.
