The results are in! After a tense race between Terry Duncan and John Arthur the County has spoken and Duncan has been named the Sheriff of Pushmatha County.
Duncan received a total of 1,103 votes compared to Arthurâ€™s 816 voters. Duncan received 57.48% of the counties total votes.
For the race between Markwayne Mullin and George Faught for the Republican candidate for Representative of District 2 (in Pushmataha County), Faught won with a total of 50.23% of the votes (108). Mullin received 49.77% (107) of the votes.
For the Democratic candidate for Representative of District 2 (in Pushmataha County), Rob Wallace won with 1,198 votes (65.18%) over Wayne Herrimanâ€™s 640 votes (34.82).
When asked how he felt after hearing the results Duncan said, â€śI would just like to thank everyone. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming. I would like to thank everyone for everything they have done, and I want to thank God too. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and work hard for the county come January. I hope I don't let anyone down and I will do my best.â€ť
These results are unofficial until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012. At that time, Duncan will be officially named the new Sheriff of Pushmataha County.
