Eunice Marie Mayo

Eunice Marie Mayo was born January 28, 1917 in Snow to Robert Lee and Verna Bell (Chapman) Joslin. She passed from this life April 12, 2011 in Antlers at the age of 94. Eunice married Albert Mayo on October 16, 1945 in Paris, TX. Eunice, affectionately known as Granny to most people, was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Ethel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and general yardwork. She loved spending time with family and friends. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband: Albert Mayo; son: David Joslin; four stepsons; one stepdaughter; parents: Robert & Verna Joslin; four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son: Dwight Mayo of Antlers; step-daughter: Leona Boyd & husband Willie Ray of LA; daughters-in-law: Louise Mayo of Ft. Worth, TX; Peggy Joslin of Antlers; brother: Johnny Joslin & wife June of Oklahoma City; sister: Helen Stobaugh & husband Fred of McAlester; numerous grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011 with Reverend Gerald Joslin officiating. Musical selections included: “Lily Of The Valley” and “The Old Rugged Cross” Performed by: Reverend Gerald Joslin. Internment followed at the Finley Cemetery in Finley.
