Jody Brent McCarty was born June 2, 1985 in McAlester to Jimmy Dwayne and Janet Lynn (Butts) McCarty. He passed from this life December 11, 2011 in Ravia at the age of 26. Jody graduated from OSU-Okmulgee with an Associates Degree in Highline Construction with honors. He married Jessica Ann Fluhmann on July 21, 2007 in San Angelo, TX. Jody had many interests & hobbies. He enjoyed watching westerns, reading tool magazines, playing with his dogs, hunting, fishing, & camping. He loved riding horses, and in his younger years, enjoyed roping. Jody liked woodworking projects, even carving hearts for his wife. He was always concerned for everyone's happiness and had a positive outlook on life. Jody's glass was always half-full. Out of all of his activities, he especially loved spending time with his family & friends. Jody was preceded in death by his brother: Jaime Dwayne McCarty; maternal grandfather: Buster Jack Butts; paternal grandfather: Guy McCarty. He is survived by his wife: Jessica of the home; parents: Jimmy & Janet McCarty of Farris; sister: Julie Wolfe & husband Thomas of Seminole; maternal grandmother: Imogene Butts of Sand Springs; paternal grandmother: Wanda Fillmore of Broken Arrow; mother-in-law: Bobbie Fluhmann & husband Mike of Robert Lee, TX; several brothers & sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, & cousins; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Antlers First Baptist Church with Reverend Sam Dyer officiating and Brent Frank performing “Beulah Land” & “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Pallbearers included: Nick Brown, Chance McArthur, Justin Brown, Stephen Moore, Michael Riser, James Schreiber, Jason Griffin, Earl Hatcher, Jason Evans, Kevin Strock, Justin Grimmett, and Jody Goodson. Honorary pallbearers were: Thomas Wolfe, Nic Word, Justin Fluhmann, Michael Fluhmann, John Fluhmann, Jeremy Fluhmann, Phillip Cannon and Tony Goodson. Interment followed at Darwin Cemetery.
