JR Bassmasters fish Pine Creek

July 19, 2012

The Pushmataha County Junior Bassmasters competed in their second qualifying bass tournament of the 2012 season on Saturday, June 30th, at Pine Creek Lake.

One other bass club also fished a tournament on the same day out of the same ramp. So with several boats on the lake for the day, fishing proved to be very difficult for all that fished.

Winning first place in the 11-14 age group was Jake Nabors with one bass that weighed 2.08 lbs. Second place went to Dyllyn Marlow with one bass weighing 1.88 lbs.

In the 15-18 age group, angler David Atwood brought home the first place prize with one bass weighing 2.88 lbs. Jordan Haddox finished in second with one bass weighing 2.25 lbs.

Because of the extremely hot temperatures, the club will not fish again until August. The club had two more Junior Bassmasters tournaments and one more adult/youth team tournament scheduled for the year as well as the deer contest later in the fall.
