New lake record set for Broken Bow Lake

On July 11, 2011 a new lake record was made for Broken Bow Lake. The fish, was a 1.2 lb Sunfish that was caught in the Carson Creek Area by a little girl by the name of Maysa Weeks of Rufe.

Weeks was using a Shimano reel with a falcon rod using hard bait/plugs with the bait casting method. The fish was weighed alive and was 11.5” long and had a girth of 11”. Weeks also decided to keep the catch after it was recorded at the Frontier General Store.
