OKey Evelyn Ervin Halcomb

OKey Evelyn Ervin Halcomb was born July 12, 1925 in Noble, to Fred and Jesse (Bennett) Ervin. She passed from this life December 31, 2012 in Wichita Falls, TX, at the age of 87. OKey married Albert Estes Halcomb on August 1, 1944 and together they raised seven children. She was a resident of the Antlers area for 59 years and worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Antlers School. OKey was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed going to church, reading, doing needlework, and she loved spending time with her family and friends. OKey was preceded in death by her husband: Estes Halcomb; sons: Larry Halcomb, Jack Halcomb, & Steven Halcomb; granddaughter: Lyndale Woodard; her parents: Fred & Jesse Ervin; one brother; and one sister. She is survived by her children: Geneva Wood of Wichita Falls, TX, Cathy Woodard Gonzalez & husband Raul of Seminole, Mike Halcomb & wife Rosa of Chickasha, and Joe Halcomb & wife Joyce of Branson, MO; sister: Betty Margaret (Peggy) Halcomb; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2013 at Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. Music will be “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, “Where The Roses Never Die”, & “Wayman’s Song”. Pallbearers include Monty Williams, Stoney Norman, Bobby Ervin, Danny Ervin, Gary Ervin, & Terry Stanley. Interment will follow at High Hill Cemetery in Tushka.
