So funny, found out what my eight year old granddaughter wants for Christmas. Well it's on the list :) She is asking for a touch IPod. Now given the fact I have already started working on a quilt for her, this want just might not come from grandma.
So walking into Pruett's today I ask D so what is an IPod? He says it's the new version of the Walkman. So I say so if I get her a walkman she wouldn't be too thrilled huh? He says, no I doubt it. Wow, does anyone out there remember the transistor radio and how everyone who was anyone had one? All you needed was a 9 volt battery. And those were at a premium. How many coke bottles did you have to collect in order to afford the battery? Okay, I know I'm telling my age here.
An IPod! How much we have progressed from the nine volt battery radio. It was just too cool to have something you could carry with you to hear Ricky Nelson or Elvis anytime you wanted. Then in my later years a walkman went with me on my walks in the evenings. I suppose the next thing will be sunglasses that have radios in them so if you blink twice you get classical or if you blink fast you get hip-hop? My next invention, starting to work on it right now!
