Rosalea Barnett

Rosalea Barnett, age 67, of Tulsa, passed away April 29, 2013. She was born April 21, 1946 in Hugo, to L.V. Boyett and Floradean Boyett. Rosalea was married while in high school but graduated from Rattan High School in 1964 with a scholarship offer to Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. She had her only child in December of the same year. Rosalea had a strong work ethic and a fierce sense of independence which propelled her to many successes throughout her professional career. Those successes started with the V.A. Hospital, Real Estate Agent/Broker, financial planner and as a postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service. Her final job was with Direct T.V. and despite her illness she continued working while battling cancer . Rosalea loved her family and friends. She was a devout Christian and very active prayer warrior for her church as well as other organizations. Her strong faith was an inspiration to those around her. Rosalea was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Wesley and Ira Mills and Odis and Eva Boyett, aunts, Lorene Parker and Myrtle Boyett, uncles, Junior Boyett, Jessie Boyett, and Harlan Boyett. She is survived by her son: Billy Alan Barnett and wife, Debra of Tulsa; grandchildren: Lauren, Sarah and Rachel; Great Grandson, Jaxson Killian; her brothers, Howard Boyett and wife, Janice of Rattan, Larry Boyett and wife, Regena of Rattan, Her Sister, Gloria Duncan and husband Nyles of Oklahoma City; Nieces, Larhonda, Tori, Valerie and Cassie; nephews, Jason, Rodney and Joseph as well as many more family members and special friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Victory Assembly of God in Rattan with Bro. Pete Green and Bro David Golf officiating.
