Superintendent’s Corner

January 26, 2012

By Cary Ammons, Superintendent of Antlers Public School

Hello Parents, Students and Community of Antlers. It has been a while since the last time we have discussed the happenings at Antlers Public Schools.

New and exciting things are in progress and with just a little more time, we will unveil them to our students and parents. For example, Antlers Public Schools is currently building a new website for our district. Available options will include navigating for students’ grades, e-mailing teachers, located school schedules, and finding enrollment packets. The website will continue to be a work-in-progress but will eventually be a valuable tool for our district.

As well, many of you will start to see new school vehicle driving students around, Antlers Public School has purchased a white suburban to transport small groups to school functions. We believe this will offset some costs and help with transportation logistics.

With January almost over and February here, many athletics are in full swing, they include Power lifting Meets, Basketball Games, Baseball and Softball spring training and FFA projects getting groomed for contest. The most important activity is students getting prepared for testing. Right now, students should be Buckling down for tests. This means taking practice tests, small benchmark tests, and studying for objectives not mastered. Antlers Public Schools is asking that our parents help us by having your child at school. It takes all of us, and we want to say thanks for all the parents help.

In closing, Administrations wants to recognize the parents who submitted surveys back to the school during a recent period concerning our calendar options for next year. We appreciate the feedback and will take all comments into consideration as we move forward. Again, we appreciate our parents and community for the caring and passion for our school, many bright and exciting things are on the horizon.
