Superintendent’s Corner: Saluting our Veterans!

November 3, 2011

By Cary Ammons

November is here and what a treat. After such a hot and dry summer, the cooler temperatures and rainfall are a blessing. As for school, November marks the beginning for practicing for holiday plays, basketball season, deer gun season and Veteran’s Day.

Antlers Public School wants to remind everyone of these upcoming events and to discuss with your child the importance of participating in holiday plays, playing on a team ad honoring our Veterans.

I would like to take this time to say that we are truly blessed to live in a country that our children can go to any school, any church, believe whatever they want to and become whatever they set their minds to be because of our Past and Present Veterans. I know that I speak for the entire school district when I say - We appreciate our Heroes! THANK YOU!

We have a civic duty such as this to honor out troops but I want to also say we have a civic duty to vote. One year from now, we will head to the polls; either to keep our current leaders or elect different ones. I am not campaigning for either party, but rather campaigning for our citizens to register to vote and then ultimately vote. Please hear what I am saying, take the time to do this, WE HAVE A VOICE!

The students of Antlers are a prized possession; we can make sure that the future is as bright as they are right now. Encourage your child, be the parent of your child, and above all, love your child. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
