Tea Party News: Washington’s tactic - White noise

March 7, 2013

By Butch Morris

White noise. Have you ever heard this term? White noise is background noise you get used to and ignore. That’s what Washington politicians do to us on a regular basis.

They put out things, such as this sequester business, and talk about it so much that we begin to ignore it. Then they usually have their way with it. and that is usually not the best thing for us.

What do we do about this? The answer to his is stay engaged. Call your representatives and let them know how you feel. Get active in local party politics. The Republican county convention is coming up soon. I assume that the Democrats will have a party caucus shortly. Push For A Better America [Tea Party] has monthly meetings. Go to these gatherings, listen to what is said, ask questions and let people know how you feel.

Sounds time consuming. Not really. Our last Push for a Better America meeting lasted an hour. An hour or so a month is not asking too much time to give consideration to Federal, State and local politics. You may not want to admit it but politics affect you. Why not have a say in them?
