Woman arrested for embezzlement

Felony embezzlement charges were filed against an Antlers woman accused of making unauthorized charges to a borrowed credit card.

According to information filed in district court, Anita Jane Scott, Antlers, faces a single felony count after a woman who allowed her to borrow her credit card at the HiWay Inn called the Antlers Police Department.

Lora Bell called the police department about the credit card usage, saying that she had spoken to the credit card company, but since she had loaned the card, they would not do anything. After speaking to the district attorney, Bell went to the police station to give a statement and also provided copies of a bill from HiWay Inn Express for $863.30. Bell said she had only given permission for Scott to charge $49.95

A felony warrant was issued and Scott was arrested on the charge.
