Bennett Lee Sherrer was born on September 20, 1922 in Snow to Robert L. and Delanie (Robison) Sherrer. He passed from this life on September 25, 2011 in Omaha, NE, while visiting his family there to celebrate his 89th birthday. He was a graduate of Antlers High School, Eastern Oklahoma A&M College, and Oklahoma State University. During World War II he served as a radiology technician at an Army Air Corp Hospital in San Angelo, TX. Much of his life was spent in Ada where he was manager of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. In 1999 he moved to Bella Vista, AR., where he resided until his death. He was a member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church and, before his move, the First Baptist Church of Ada. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents Robert L. Sherrer and Delanie Robison Sherrer of Snow, as well as brothers, Leonard Sherrer of Snow, Lloyd Sherrer of Durant, A.L. Sherrer of Oregon, and Laverne Sherrer of Oregon and sisters Audry Holland of Springdale, AR., and Wilma Franks of Antlers. He was also preceded in death by a brother Osborn Lowell Sherrer who died as a newborn. He is survived by his wife, Lucretia Sailors Sherrer of the home and two children: a son Joe Sherrer and wife Liz of Moore and a daughter Susan Allen and husband Geoff of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces including the following: sister, Loretta Westbrook and husband David of Garland, TX; brothers, Leon Sherrer of Durant and William L. Sherrer and wife Valda of Mena, AR; grandchildren Tim Allen and wife Jen of Fenton, MO, and their children Alexander and Gabriel; Andy Sherrer and wife Megan of Norman, and their children Sheridan and Jackson; Josh Allen of Minneapolis, MN; Jennifer Agilar and husband Tony of Omaha, NE, and their children Trinity, Brianna, and Gabrielle; and John Sherrer and wife Joni of Edmond and their children Samuel and Syndey. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Bella Vista Baptist Church in Bella View, AR. Interment followed at the Bella Vista Cemetery.
