Push for a Better America held it’s monthly meeting last Friday evening and we had a pretty good turnout. We also had some pretty good speakers.
The Republican party vice chair for Southeastern Oklahoma, Pam Pollard, addressed us on issues and efforts to elect conservative candidates.
John Fritz spoke for Markwayne Mullin, conservative candidate for District 2 congressional district. Markwayne couldn’t make it down to see us in person this time die to prior campaign commitments. However, he has been here four times in the past year.
Howard Houchen, Choctaw County Native and State Senate Candidate for Oklahoma District 5, addressed us and provided us with reasons to send him to the State House.
I spoke on the need to extend 1/4 cent tax to fund our fire departments. This question will be on the November ballot and I encourage all citizens to vote in favor of it.
Kenneth Blan presented the state question on the November ballot. I encourage you to get a copy of them and make your decisions prior to entering the voting booth.
We were certainly pleased to welcome delegation from the Choctaw County Republicans and Conservative Voters Association. That’s the Hugo Tea Party group. I attended their meeting last Thursday and was impressed with their program. They meet on the last Thursday of the month at the Kiamichi Tech Center in Hugo.
