Garnett "Katie" Metcalf born on June 10, 1929, passed from this world on March 5, 2014. Many friends and family will be there to welcome her in heaven. Katie was born in California and spent most of her time on the West coast. At the time of her passing she considered Antlers, Oklahoma, to be her home. She loved to travel and always looked forward to her Wednesday lunches at the Choctaw Senior Citizen Center where she enjoyed the company of friends and family. Katie was also a member of the First Christian Church in Port Orchard, Washington and a member of the Piddlin' Piecemakers Quilters of Clayton and was extremely proud to help bring back to life the Cartwright Memorial Library with the sales from the quilts they made together. At the age of 84 Katie had acquired many friends and family that will miss her greatly. Her parents; Archie Southard and Viola Donoho, five siblings; daughter, Dorothy Deming, and a great granddaughter preceded her in death. She leaves behind to miss her; her beloved brother, Art Southard and wife Wilma; daughters, Pat Barringer and Susanna Eaton and husband Wayne; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Katie also had another family that which she considered hers, Dee Velasquez and her three boys, Aaron, Dylan and Jake. Katie considered Dee a blessing; her own personal angel that was always there when she needed her and considered Dee's boys as her own. We must not also forget her pet companion Annie that will dearly miss her. Pallbearers include: Jonathan Jones, Aaron, Dylan and Jake Velasquez.
